Toxic Substances for Pets

Chewing gum is toxic to pets.

Xylitol poisoning is on the rise. Xylitol is a sweetener found in sugar free chewing gums, candy and baked foods. A substantial amount ingested may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure resulting in depression, loss of coordination and seizures. These signs can occur as soon as 30 minutes after ingestion.

Other Toxic Substances

  • Grapes and raisins
  • Almonds
